Next Project: Mongol Vest
Marc and I are nearing the finish line on my Mongol deel. We’ll probably finish it this weekend or early next week. Despite the fact that it’s still on the sewing table, I’m already planning my next project. Such is the nature of costuming. My next project is part of this image:
See that long red/black/floral thing she’s wearing? That’s actually a vest. It fits over the deel and adds both a layer of warmth and a layer of decoration. I’m still unclear on what they’re called, but they’re a very common item of womens’ clothing, and they’re generally very decorative. I think I’m going to make mine alone these lines, out of panels of busy, embroidered fabric. Should be a fun project.
All I can say is thank god I’m not married, otherwise I’d have to wear one of those ridiculous headdresses!
