Disorientation

February 12, 2009  |  Personal  |

A sign that travel is starting to addle my brain:

Last night, while I was warming the bed as Marc was brushing his teeth, I asked him “Hon, we woke up in another state this morning, right?  In Pennsylvania?” because I honestly couldn’t remember (we did).  It all just eventually begins to blur together, I swear.

I can’t imagine how surreal June will be, while I’m traveling through Russia and those Central Asian “stans”.  Instead of “what state did I wake up in this morning?” I will be asking myself “what country did I wake up in this morning?”.

Though, honestly, for all the surrealism that such traveling tends to lend my life, I wouldn’t trade it for a more “stable” life.  What is life if not interesting?
